Recordist's notes
The project investigates how space is perceived through the convergence of touch, sound, and atmosphere. Inspired by Juhani Pallasmaa's critique of ocular centrism in The Eyes of the Skin, the installation explores the multi-sensory depth of space by documenting specific sites where urban development and nature coexist. By recording the material contrast between the sharp, inorganic resonance of concrete and the "swallowing silence" of organic woodland, the work examines how tactile and auditory perspectives offer a spatial acknowledgement that vision alone cannot provide. The goal is to demonstrate that 'depth' is not just a visual distance, but a physical relationship—a tangible dialogue between the body and the environment.
