Recordist's notes

27.01.2026, abends. ______________ January 27, 2026, evening. The tide is pushing thousands of small ice floes up the Elbe. It's freezing cold with a crosswind. The harbor is bustling, but the people waiting for the ferry at the dock are oblivious. They're chatting, babbling, impatient because they want to get on the ferry and into the warmth. As the ship docks, the captain accelerates quite a bit, the ice floes dance, breaking apart between the ship and the dock, churning into a mush. The passengers board, things quiet down, and soon the ferry sets off, crossing the Elbe. Recorded with the Olympus LS 12 and the bathtub double neck pillow microphone (DIY)
