Recordist's notes

In a very few time, the fire brigade alarms will disappear. Firemen will use an automatic system, called 'be alert', comparable to a phone they will wear everyday. A fireman called me a few weeks ago in aim to record the alarm, before the disappearance. I was stunned. In fact I put my recorder to a very high compression level, because I was waiting for a very loud siren. And... it's only a small speaker saying : hey, wake up guys, wake up ! Nothing loud. The alarm is preceded by a code (like a small song), and a voice says in french consequence of the problem : chimney fire, extrication, etc. This is recorded in the fire brigade room, where firemen sleep. In a few time this song will be the past.
