Recordist's notes
What is the typical sound of a french rural landcape ? Immediatly, I think about a small Burgundy village. It's probably an Épinal print, but no matter. Beyond the stereotype, for me it's above all sparrows, Eurasian collared doves and if summer, a lot of Common Swifts shouting in the sky. Also, it's distant bells, old mobylettes and cycles bells. As countryside, it's often very nag, I let the 4 minutes of mower at the beginning. At the end of the recording, a boat called Adrienne is passing by on the Burgundy canal. The bridge is very small for the boat, thus craft is going extremely slowly.
