Recordist's notes
Esnart Mweemba is an artist and craftswomen, researcher and trainer from Choma Zambia and belongs to the BaTonga. We made these recordings in Esnart’s studio on her farm in Harmony (between Choma and Monze). So we had plenty of material and inspiration around us to go into detail in our conversation; and we did. Esnart shares her knowledge and experience with us, especially about traditional beadwork. She did extensive research in this field, which she gathered in interviews with elders... here she tells how she learnt her art from her mum who was blind...
About the place
Choma is a town of about 98,974 people in Southern Province, Zambia. OttoAnna lists 11 field recordings from here.
