Recordist's notes
Using a Tascam DR-05XP with DIY stereo AOM-5024 microphones in AB setup. Using a DIY battery powered preamp (input and output sockets are for 3.5mm jacks) in between the recorder and the mics to lower the noise floor as these mics have low noise. Based on the OPA1656 op amp. The recorder is sitting on a bench in my backyard. You can hear planes flying over, the sounds of birds, cars in the distance on the street and the occasional rustle of leaves on the ground.
