Recordist's notes
The Loire river is a well known place, considering that there's a lot of touristical places : old castles, the beautiful weather and the overall beauty of its natural sites. This makes a good presage for a soundscape. However this recording was difficult to achieve. Indeed, on the Tours city outskirts, Loire river is extremely quiet, it's a lake without waves. In addition, important roads border the banks. Because of the cars, to record near an island is almost mandatory. Luckily, I was able to find the perfect place in Saint-Genouph village : beautiful, calm and representative of the river.
