Recordist's notes

red-crowned crane soundscape ... akan crane centre ... hopefully somewhere near the correct place ... telinga parabolic to minidisk ... red crowned cranes with young ... an attendant walks out into a small arena with two pails of fish ... dumps them and retires ... the cranes approach ... meanwhile ... white tailed sea eagles congregate ... they come in at zero level ... drag their talons on the ice ... hoping to catch a fish as they slide ... then power away ... the cranes call and whicker as they approach ... bird calls ... whooper swan ... hooded crow ... raven ... so much background noise ... took place in what looked like a very small amateur football stadium ... plenty of motorised camera shutter sound ...
