Recordist's notes
Recorded from the 5th floor of my apartment, in Barra, Salvador in Brazil. The seemingly never ending roadworks are in full swing in this World Cup 2014 host city. There are growing doubts that they will be finished in time. They say that all will be completed, but in the Brazilian way. With the paint still wet....The roadworks can be heard, as always, along with the omnipresent shore-break. The thunder is starting to roll in, as we are now in the rainy season. The ominous soundscape mirrors the growing unrest in the country, at this; "their" World Cup. Only 20 days to go.....
