Recordist's notes

Installed in the forest behind Dazaifu Tenmangu shrine, Susan Philipsz' The Trees Listen uses the sound of eight conch shells played through speakers. This recording is a short walk through the path of the exhibit, ending on the brow of the hill where an amusement park can also be heard.
