Recordist's notes
It’s a usual randonnée for grenoblers or for tourists that come in for awhile : climb up to the Bastille. Three main ways do it : the simplest is to take the bubble telephérique, but if you want to really climb, you can choose the western garden of Guy Pape, or, like here, the eastern way along the fortifications built to protect the city from the Savoyan invasions. Then you’ll have to walk up the « stairs of giants ». Here is the first one, of 380 steps.
