Recordist's notes

The trail started from Mo Tat Wan in the direction of Shek Pai Wan. This geographical location of the sound recording is halfway between Mo Tat School Old Village and Mo Tat Village Public Toilet on the Lamma Island Family Walk Trail. It is estimated that this landscape was an abandoned agricultural area when that was still inhabited. The timing of seasonal breeding during spring and summer is also known. Many animal species breed and mate in this brackish environment, especially when we recorded natural sounds after the heavy rains a few days ago, e.g. spiders, butterflies, ants, frogs, plants, etc. Whatever the environmental impact assessments revealed, the secondary forest has no conservation value. However, the abandoned farmland became a secondary forest, scrub, and copses that now form a sustainable biological system for biodiversity in Lamma Island.
