Recordist's notes
The sound of a typical summer evening near Atlanta, GA. Aside from the typical neighborhood sounds captured in previous recordings, the cicada chorus is particularly prominent around the evening and twilight hours. They start every day at about 5:30 or 6:00 (perhaps even earlier), and they continue their chorus until nightfall (at which time we get a distinctly different chorus consisting of various nocturnal insects). These are annual cicadas, meaning we hear them every single year, and are thus distinct from the 17-year cicadas being heard in other places in the country.
