Recordist's notes
The earlier rain dissipated and the sky lightened but clouds still hung low. The road has lost some of its moisture but is still a powerful auditory presence, individual vehicles hard to distinguish from the overall blur. I am walking the shoreline listening through headphones, sweeping the microphone left and right, looking for a suitable location, not realising that I am recording. Hence, starting and stopping, occasional audible breaths, clothing rustling, sounds of body movements, re-arranging my bag.
