Recordist's notes
This was recorded for the project Taranto Sonora, headed by Francesco Giannico. The old town of Taranto is based on an Island, between one of the most polluting steel factories in the Europe, ILVA, and the new town which has been built in the fascist era, where richer people leave. In this recording, children are playing in Largo San Martino and biking around me and Fabio who where there in center of the square with the recorder on a tripod, visible to them.
About the place
Taranto is a city of about 198,585 people in Apulia, Italy. OttoAnna lists 9 field recordings from here.
