Recordist's notes
The Phin is a Thai traditional music instrument. I saw in two places some modern version, with guitar pickups that could be amplified. This one is played by a young music school kid, backup track coming from his phone plugged in the amp. There is a buzz between 1'20 and 6'20 that didn't prevent him from playing. Tech Note : Sony PCM-D100 internal microphones, XY position.
About the place

Equipment mentioned: Sony PCM-D100. A high-end handheld with DSD recording and very quiet preamps, loved by nature recordists.
