Recordist's notes
100s of geese, egrets and a grey heron with trains and the ever present autobahn as background. The water levels in Moorlinse are unusually low despite the recent rain. Maybe that's a remaining consequence of the long summer drought. However there are more geese than I've ever seen before. Perhaps they like the shallow water and exposed mud. A passing bird watcher said the species were white-fronted and bean geese.
