Recordist's notes

One of my favorite places in Houston. Been coming here since I was a child, doing my best to escape the city; always marveling at the dense blend of natural and urban sounds. Sometimes it sounds like a battle, other times harmonious. I went to this place looking for what I think is the pulse of my city for The Noise Project (way beyond the agreed upon time frame to post submissions!). Note the brown trees. They have all since died and fallen after several years of hard drought. It looks and sounds much different now... CA-14 omnis (spaced)> Sony PCM D50
