Recordist's notes
When i visited Fortescue Farm in February 2014 not only was the River Exe breaking its backs but there was also a gale blowing across the site and lashing rain. I tried several experiments with contact microphones attaching them to objects to capture the impact of the elements. In this recording you can hear the rain striking the gate and the wind creating aeolian effects as it buffets the metal gate posts. This recording was made with two contact microphones and an Edirol R-44 - and some gaffer tape.
