Recordist's notes

The recording with Mulenga Kapwepwe took place in the busy offices of the National Arts Council of Zambia in Lusaka, which underscores Mulenga’s stories with a vivid soundtrack; even the Lusaka-Livingstone train comes in at a poignant moment. The interview is a lucky opportunity to listen to Mulenga, the artist, poet, author, researcher, playwright and storyteller she is. She offers us an audio-tour through a number of her stage productions, their cultural backgrounds and underlying research. Mulenga Kapwepwe is the chairperson of the National Arts Council Zambia (NAC), sits on numerous government and international advisory panels, and is the Patron of a number of national arts and women organisations.
