Recordist's notes

_______________ Herbert-Weichmann-Straße and its northern extension (Sierichstraße) are a unique feature of Hamburg. During the first half of the day, car traffic is directed toward the city center as a one-way street. Starting at 12:05 p.m., after a five-minute closure, the direction of travel is switched to outbound. As a result of this regulation, traffic flow is significantly dependent on the traffic light phases. Recurring pauses between normal traffic can be heard. And since cars are only traveling in one direction, this can be heard in the recording from right to left. A helicopter was flying in the other direction during the recording. Recorded with an Olympus LS12 and the bathtub double neck pillow microphone.
