Recordist's notes
Sounding Lines is a visual art project by Claire Halpin and Maree Hensey which intends to isolate and record unusual and everyday sounds of the River Suir in a visual way. Communities will experience a heightened awareness and reverence for the river as a unique historical, cultural and ecological natural resource. The artists will develop an interactive sound map of the River which will become a living document, bringing the visitor to unexpected yet familiar places. This residency was commissioned by South Tipperary County Council Arts Service and forms part of an INTERREG IVB programme entitled Green and Blue Futures. South Tipperary County Council is one of the partners of this European Partnership Project.
