…we are with the filmmaker Joyce Jenje Makwends and the pioneer jazz singer Lina Mattaka in a shop in Old Pumula Township…. We were just returning from a local Wedding ceremony where the Joyce and Lina had been singing in praise of bride and groom… and here they continue while shopping... According to Joyce, this song is – “Somandla thelu moya Oyingcwele” – translated into English – Almighty send the blessed atmosphere/ energy/ spirit…” The recordings from Pumula Wedding are archived at: https://archive.org/details/Voices_from_Bulawayo_388
