Recordist's notes
We are here into the entrance of the Lucé library. Children use this place as a playful spot. During the long summer holidays, there's nothing to do on the surroundings, especially in Chartres city, despising deeply the poor people living here. It's very different in Lucé as the city is profoundly heedful of this community. In fact, it means the library forms a small paradise for aimless children. These children are accustomed and come every day. On this saturday evening, the library will close in a few time. Chidren play, joke, and discuss with the employees. Four children siblings are especially active and noisy. Rim (it's her first name) is a small child, I give her four years, nothing more. She doesn't want to talk to the adults. When she wants something, she asks her sisters to speak to the adult. As an education, adults refuse to answer her and kindly force her to speak to them. It's difficult for her and she's crying every time. It's a completely improvised recording. It's sometimes a few saturated as the microphones were extremely near the children, it was totally unexpected. It was not intended to be like that, but in fact the recorder was simply abandoned on the desk, I was not here. Children went so near the microphone that I guess they were 10 centimeters from the microphones they didn't noticed. As a documentary, nonetheless I decided to publish. Recording is official as I explained to concerned people the conducted action. I learned a few time after that Rim absolutely not changed and her bent not to speak to adults is widespread.
