Recordist's notes
On a wooden bridge over the main river, swollen by recent rain. Some birds settle to their evening roost and the pistol club practices, each shot reverberating across and along the valley. I think this place is identical to the location that Elin Anna Labba refers to in The Rocks Will Echo Our Sorrow, where she quotes Andom Ovlla Olle saying: “I’ve been up to Romssavággi with Johánas, but they’d pulled everything down and turned the area beside the brook, where the goahtis used to stand, into a shooting range. There’s no way you can tell that they once lived there. It’s been turned into a playground for other folk …”
