Recordist's notes
Recorded off the rocks of Helliwell Provincial Park, with two underwater microphones at an early morning high tide, submerged at a depth of about 1m. The gurgling of water surging against the rocks is underpinned by the high-pitched drone/whine of an approaching and passing power boat (at a closest distance of about 1km). The detrimental effects of this type of noise on marine mammals have been well-documented. Microphones: stereo pair of JrF hydrophones Recorder: Tascam DR-680mkII
