Recordist's notes
A severe windstorm, as heard from a top floor window. These winds were the result of hurricane Helene, which majorly impacted some nearby areas. Not much can be heard over the windswept trees, but raindrops and nocturnal insects can be made out if one listens closely enough. Proper microphone placement was crucial, as the window could only be cracked a tiny bit before the force of the wind began to rattle interior doors. The microphones were facing completely perpendicular to the window screen in order to prevent distortion (obviously wind muffs were used).
