Recordist's notes
Sound of waves and insects as well as singing Greater Hoopoe-Larks, a desert bird that is quite common on Boa Vista. at about 3:20 in the recording one can be heard quite near. Binaural recording, recorded with a modified Crown SASS housing incorporating two sennheiser mkh20 mics. The dummy head microphone facing south. Placed in the back of a car with the trunk lid open for wind protection.

This recording was made away from larger towns, about 84 km from the nearest city in our gazetteer.
Equipment mentioned: Sennheiser MKH microphones and Binaural microphones. RF-condenser microphones (MKH 416, 8040, 8020, 30/40) – robust in humid conditions and very quiet.
