Frequency to Note Converter (and Note to Hz)

Convert any frequency to the nearest musical note with cents deviation, or a note to its frequency – with adjustable A4 reference pitch.

Frequency → note

Note → frequency

How it works

The converter uses equal temperament: n = 69 + 12·log₂(f / A4). The nearest whole number is the MIDI note; the remainder × 100 is the deviation in cents (hundredths of a semitone).

Change the A4 reference to work with 432 Hz, 442 Hz orchestral pitch or 415 Hz Baroque tuning.
