Recordist's notes

This open area, beside the canal, away from traffic feels very relaxed in the sun. Jackdaws flock in the bare winter trees above as the afternoon light slowly dims. There is distant construction work. People stroll past or sit on the benches. A man shouts and claps loudly for his dog, who is far more interested sniffing fellow dog playmates. A lovely sounding bell strikes 4pm. Across the green meadow stands the Polish Post Office Museum - a truly historic spot. It is where the first shot of the 2nd World War was fired. Eventually, the, by now many, jackdaws fly off noisily for their final roosting place - a massive crane towering over one of the building sites.
