Recordist's notes

Wind rustling through dry fall foliage on the bank of the Meramec River at the current southern terminus of the Al Foster Trail near Rebel Bend – a large crescent shaped curve in the river. During the Civil War this area was said to provide the best route for secessionists to travel back and forth from St. Louis to the south.
