Recordist's notes
Château d'Avignon en Camargue - Ambience 'Le domaine des murmures # 1'. From July, 19th, to Octobre, 19th in 2014, there is a pretty fine sound art exhibiton at the Château d'Avignon en Camargue. Titled 'Le domaine des murmures # 1', several site-specific sound works turn the parc and some of the outbuildings into a pulsating soundscape. Visitors are invited to explore the works of twelve different artists. See http://www.chateaudavignon.fr/exposition/le-domaine-des-murmures-1.html for further information. In this particular recording, you will notice sounds from different works by Julien Clauss, Emma Dusong, Arno Fabre, and Franck Lesbros, the drone of the water pump from the nearby machine hall as well as the sonic contributions of several unidentified crickets, and, last but not least, the total absence of sound from an installation by Emmanuel Lagarrigue in the machine hall.
