Recordist's notes
A snippet from several days of gales. Fen covert is a very atmospheric old wetland wood, left untouched for decades. The birches and alders have fallen, slanted, grown and died into fantastic mossy shapes and sculptures. A dead tree, cracked but still upright leans on another. They move together in the wind. The creak is faintly audible to the ear amongst the hiss and swell of leaves and branches, but very loud and close to the contact mic placed in the trunk. This track is a mix of the outer and inner sounds in sync.
