Recordist's notes
one loop with the handheld recorder around the busy Katowice main train station. As I walk past the ticket counters, I can hear the staff talking to customers through a microphone and a speaker mounted on the counter’s glass. Even though the announcement chime is clearly audible, the speaker’s voice fades into the background in the hall. Toward the end, I walk past an open door, and for a moment I can hear sounds from outside— man playing on an accordion, people on the street, passing cars. (roland r-07)
