Recordist's notes

White River Beach is a lovely, scruffy little beach near Agios Giorgios and the Avakas Gorge on the Akamas Peninsular. We found an amazing little homestead carved in the the stone caves and lots of good wood for burning. As we were in an apartment in Kathikas in January we needed wood and we were being charged 10Eu per bag. On the first day we were there it was very stormy with huge waves. Three days later everything was very quiet. I could even hear the Western Jackdaws · (Coloeus monedula) on the cliffs. The road is unmetaled just after this and you can gently bump along (in an appropriate vehicle) to Lara beach where you may see turtles. Recorded using omni Primo capsules in spaced array to Olympus LS 11
