Recordist's notes
My mum (103 yrs on May 19th) has always loved bees. Dad, when he was alive used to have 3 or 4 hives. Just recently a friend has introduced a hive in Mum's front garden, close to an apple tree and virginia creeper. She loves it. The honey is gorgeous. Recorded using a home made SASS rig based on 2 Primo EM 172 capsules to Olympus LS14 placed about 10 cms away, off set to rhs at the level of the landing stage . An overcast but mild day with a light breeze. What a frenetic and wonderful sound.
