Recordist's notes
Brown coal arriving from opencast mines by barge is unloaded by huge grabbers on cranes that swing their load in a graceful arc to dump it on the vast coal stores. The thundering of the grabber into the barge is accompanied by the sounds of water pouring into the canal and heavy traffic in this bleak, but impressive, industrial area.
