Recordist's notes
Today it was very hot and humid in Brussels. As we passed near to the Beurs, we heard amazing Djembe sounds and some guys had gathered on the steps to do amazing African drumming. We were on the other side of the street, and at one point I became fascinated by the way that the drumming sound intermittently dissolved into, and rose out, from the sound of the traffic. Even though it was a very busy, loud street, you can still also hear very slightly the applause of the sleepy folks sat on the steps near the drummers, hypnotised a little bit by the repetitive sound and the languid heat of the day. Recorded with EDIROL R-09 and simply the onboard microphones. Listen out for the nice bicycle bell passing by.
