Neotibicen winnemanna or Eastern Scissor Grinder is an annual cicada commonly found in central and eastern Texas in woodlands and forested neighbourhoods. Their calls persist from July through August and are generally heard as a 'dusk chorus' along with several other species of cicada around sunset.
