Recordist's notes

1000 barrels of Canadian tar sands crude oil spilled here on July 27 2012. Less than one year later, excavation and repair work is still clearly visible due to distinct plants which grow only where topsoil was disturbed. Expect many more spills such as this due to pipeline rupture, negligence, and other causes all across the country if / when the XL pipeline gets built.
