Recordist's notes

An hopper dredger cleans the Seine bed every day. One of this boat, called the Jean Ango, is berthed here like on the left on the aerial view. This hopper dredger is pushing the collected stones in an abandoned quarry, using two big metal tubes. Pushing the stones makes enormous noises and a very staggering nuisance for the neighbours. The recording contains in first the end of a cuve and at the middle of the time, a new tank. It was hard to stay here as the sound level was high. The boat volume is 5000 m³. It makes this nuisance during a very long time and also by night.
