Recordist's notes
La Plaza de Puerto Rubio, formerly Plaza Vieja (the old square) in the Puente de Vallecas district of Madrid, is one of the gathering points of local life. Planned as a food market around 1900, it was inaugurated in 1927 as the San Isidro Market that remained active until the 1950s, serving as a vital meeting place and commercial hub in the area before its current urban transformation. Today, there are a few bars, and children and teenagers play and socialize there, finding themselves in a small oasis away from the nearby traffic of the Albufera street.
