Recordist's notes
Recording of the chirps and peeps of the Least Sandpiper (Calidris minutilla), the smallest shorebird, as well as possibly a few Dunlins (Calidris alpina), during their stopover in Mallard Slough along their migration route to the Arctic circle. They are only here for a couple weeks in May and then later in July/August. Flocks were greater than 10k in number as they feed in the mudflats that extend from the north arm of the Stikine river delta near the mouth of LeConte Bay.
