Recordist's notes
Street pavement downtown in Pavia are made of river pebbles. Three workers here are building the pavement: one selects the best rounded stones fron a pile, puts them on a barrow and unloads on the ground, the other two gently dab the pebbles on the soil with small hammers and level them to the ground. The gentle sound created by this rhyhtmic work gives an idea of the patience required
