Recordist's notes
This recording was made at Death Valley National Park on April 16th, 2009, using a Sound Devices 722 recorder and a Sennheiser MS mic system (MKH-40/MKH-30). It is included on my album entitled "Death Valley Oasis," which also features recordings from another site in Death Valley. My timing was lucky that year; I went back to the 2nd site two years later and it was dead quiet.
Context
This recording was made away from larger towns, about 150 km from the nearest city in our gazetteer.
Equipment mentioned: Sound Devices recorders and Sennheiser MKH microphones. Professional location recorders (702, 722, MixPre series) with very quiet preamps.
