Recordist's notes

This factory complex makes rails for train tracks (presumably mostly for Deutche Bahn). This looks like a storage area and the overhead crane moves them around. The sound is an instantly recognisable soundmark of the Kirschmöser area. When the crane is still the soundscape is very quite - the distance low drone of a pasing boat, crows, ravens and wind trees. Today is windless, cold and sunny. Comparing this recording with the one beside it is interesting. They both sound almost the same, although there is 10 years between them. The technology here hasn't changed in that period.
