Recordist's notes
On the very first day of enforced confinement, police cars towing PA systems circulated around Spanish cities, booming out a prerecorded message announcing the lockdown. It sounded rather ominous, particularly to those of us who had recently watched the "Chernobyl" series. It caught me rather unprepared - I had to rush out to the balcony, recorder in hand, and set levels and ride gain as I went. Thus the technical issues with the recording. Still, it was as good as a run-and-gun recording could go, and, listening back, it does seem to irradiate that sense of shock of the first days of the quarantine.
