Recordist's notes
The recording consists of the layering of two soundscapes “In Situ”. The sound of the source of the Douro river, and a recording of the mouth of the river, between the cities of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia, diffused on location through a pair of portable speakers. I then recorded both soundscapes using two Oktava mk 012 microphones into a Sound Devices Mix pre 3.

This recording was made away from larger towns, about 43 km from the nearest city in our gazetteer.
