Recordist's notes
During a walk on this sunny, very windy morning, I climbed up to a fairly high hunting pulpit at the edge of the forest, from which there is a nice view of a large clearing leading toward the river. The pulpit was shaking and tilting in the wind. You can hear the sounds of the shifting wooden structure and very strong gusts of wind in the forest clearing as well as dry leaves sliding across the floor of the pulpit. Every once in a while you can also hear the wind wheezing in the gaps between the wooden boards. On the one hand, the sounds of birds on a sunny morning gave a sense of calm atmosphere and on the other, the strong gusts of wind were just the opposite of serene. Yet it was all very engaging so I decided to stay there for a little while and make a longer recording. (roland r-07)
