Recordist's notes

I was staying in a hotal in Limerick for a conference and was waiting in the lobby for my colleague, Paul Whitty, when a local radio station turned up to broadcast from the lobby. There was music playing in the kitchen area, combined with the strange time delay of the broadcast being both produced live in the space, and running through the speakers. Another colleague turned up wearing an extremely rustly jacket. Someone texted me. A bricolage of crazy sounds at the start of a day of soundartpolemic: the noise of broadcast and reception, piped music, cutlery being tidied away, people fidgeting, phones going off, and waiting.
